APhA-ASP WesternU Chapter
APhA-ASP at Western University provides opportunities for student pharmacists to explore careers in pharmacy, helps students navigate though pharmacy school, gain valuable pharmacy experiences, connect with others in the profession and much more. We seek to empower our members with the knowledge and opportunities necessary to advance the profession as well as representing WesternU positively as they develop their careers. Our chapter focuses on professionalism and making an impact in advancing our pharmacy through various events and activities hosted throughout the year.

American Pharmacist Association- Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP)
“The misssion of the American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) is to be the collective voice of student pharmacists, to provide opportunities for professional growth, to improve patient care and to ensure and advance the future of pharmacy”.
The nationally recognized American Pharmacists Association (APhA) is the largest association of pharmacists in the United States. It was founded in 1852 and is the 6th oldest national professional society in the United States. It is also the 1st national pharmacy organization with over 60,000 members including practicing pharmacists, pharmaceutical scientists, student pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and others. It serves to educate it’s members about optimal medication use by patients and provides them with the tools necessary to advance the overall care of the patient.

California Pharmacist Association (CPhA)
“Since its establishment in 1869, the California Pharmacists Association continues as the largest state association in the nation representing pharmacists. CPhA’s membership covers the entire spectrum of pharmacy practice settings and includes student pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. The Association’s vision is echoed by all CPhA members: A unified pharmacy profession, recognized as preeminent in patient care.”

International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF)
“APhA-ASP is the member organization representing the United States to IPSF. As a member of APhA-ASP you are a member of IPSF. IPSF is worldwide federation of student pharmacist organizations. The goal is to encourage cooperation to improve the profession of pharmacy.”
